Planet Tracker Pro app for iPhone and iPad
Developer: Jace Nicklien
First release : 17 Jul 2020
App size: 51.02 Mb
I originally wrote this program for myself. I wanted to know realtime positional data for the planets. I didn’t want to know the average distance, I wanted to know how far away the planet is right now. When I was watching Mars Curiosity Rover land on Mars, I wanted to know what the delay was (in other words light travel time to Mars) at that very moment. This app will tell me that - and much more.
Some of the realtime data computed by this app:
Altitude
Angular Diameter
Apparent Magnitude
Axial Tilt To Orbit
Azimuth
Current Phase
Declination
Degrees To Aphelion
Distance From The Sun
Distance From The Earth
Distance To Perihelion
Ecliptic Latitude
Ecliptic Longitude
Heliocentric Latitude
Heliocentric Longitude
Longitude Of Aphelion
Longitude Of Perihelion
Orbital Velocity
Right Ascension
Rise Azimuths
Rise Time
Set Azimuth
Set Time
Transit Time
True Anomaly
The app also provides a visual representation of the planets position in the sky and in the solar system.
